Patient Cook

The Hospital Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious and safe meals for patients, staff, and visitors while following hospital dietary guidelines, food safety regulations, and special dietary requirements.

• Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and hospital menus.
• Follow special diets, including diabetic, low-sodium, pureed, and other therapeutic diets.
• Maintain proper food portions, temperatures, and presentation.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment safely.
• Store, label, and rotate food products according to established guidelines.
• Monitor food temperatures and maintain proper documentation.
• Assist with meal tray preparation and timely delivery of patient meals.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and food preparation area.
• Communicate with dietary staff regarding patient meal requirements and food allergies.
• Minimize food waste and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Follow hospital policies, OSHA standards, and applicable health regulations.

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• 1+ year of cooking experience in a hospital, healthcare,
