As we continue to expand, we are looking for a motivated Patient Coordinator to join our team. This role will start part-time with a strong likelihood of transitioning to full-time in the near future.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Patient Coordinator to serve as the front line of our psychiatric practice. This role is essential to creating a calm, efficient, and compassionate experience for our patients—many of whom are navigating mental health challenges and truly appreciate a friendly, competent point of contact.
You’ll be responsible for patient check-in, scheduling, phone triage, documentation, and overall office coordination. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who can juggle tasks, stay organized in a busy environment, and communicate with empathy and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and facilitate a smooth, welcoming check-in process
- Update patient demographic and insurance information
- Collect copays and outstanding balances
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars
- Answer phone calls and appropriately triage patient needs
- Coordinate refill requests
- Handle incoming and outgoing documentation (mail, fax, records)
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records

- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable multitasking in a busy medical office
- Proficiency with basic computer programs (Microsoft Office or similar)
- Previous office or healthcare experience preferred

About Kristen Marquis, Lead Practitioner
Kristen Marquis, PMHNP-BC, MSN was born in Round Lake, NY and is a proud graduate of Sage College with a Master’s Degree in Nursing. She is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is dedicated to providing care to adults, adolescents, and children.
Kristen has over 21-years of nursing experience. During this time, she has gained the expertise, competence, and confidence to provide quality, safe, evidence-based patient-centered care. She has practiced for over 15 years, in emergency medicine having cared for and met the needs of individuals with mental health disorders from common panic attacks to patients in full crisis. In addition to practicing in emergency medicine, Kristen has several years’ experience in private practice during which she provided medication management to children and adolescents in the foster care system.
Kristen is a compassionate, empathetic, and honest practitioner who provides psychopharmacological treatment plans that are evidence-based and specific to patient needs. She ensures that medication management recommendations and decisions are jointly made with great consideration placed on patient’s preference, cultural beliefs, and specific diagnosis. Her expertise involves providing mental health evaluations, medication management, and brief psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. She is a firm believer in continuing education and strives to stay up-to-date on current evidence-based best practices. She is also a proud member of the American Nurses Association (ANA).
Kristen lives in Clifton Park with her husband, three children, and two dogs. She enjoys going to concerts, volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, and exploring the world through traveling and reading.
