Pay Range:

The base pay range for this position is

$82,188.40-$125,964.80 Annual

however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Position Overview:

The Patient Financial Services Manager is responsible for the daily operations and performance of assigned Patient Financial Services functions. The manager supervises department employees, monitors productivity and financial performance, implements approved policies and operational plans, coordinates assigned vendors, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. The position works under the direction of the Director of Revenue Cycle and collaborates with other hospital departments to support accurate billing, timely account resolution, effective denial follow-up, and a positive patient financial experience.

A Day in the Life:

• Manages the daily operations of assigned Patient Financial Services functions.
• Provides direct supervision, coaching, education, and performance management for departmental employees.
• Monitors departmental performance indicators including cash collections, A/R days, denial follow-up, productivity, and patient satisfaction.
• Identifies performance variances and develops corrective action plans in coordination with the Director of Revenue Cycle.
• Partners with Revenue Integrity, Patient Access, Coding, and other departments to identify and address denial and billing trends.
• Handles escalated patient complaints and complex account resolution concerns.
• Coordinates the operational performance of collection agencies and other assigned vendors.
• Prepares departmental budget recommendations and monitors actual performance against approved budgets.
• Ensures departmental practices comply with applicable policies and regulatory requirements and escalates significant concerns appropriately.
• Prepares routine performance reports and communicates results, risks, and improvement plans to leadership.

About You!

This Job is For You if You Have:

• Demonstrated knowledge of hospital billing, collections, denials management, and revenue cycle metrics.
• Experience with patient accounting and electronic health record systems.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations.
• Two years of supervisory or management experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

A Wow if You Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field.
• HFMA, AAHAM, or other revenue cycle certification.
• Epic experience.
• Critical Access Hospital or rural healthcare experience.
