Patient Flow Coordinator

Position Summary:

Coordinates and schedules patients for breast center procedures. Obtains all necessary information required to perform the procedure prior to the scheduled date of the procedure. Works with breast radiologist and technologists to organize work flow in an efficient manner. Obtains all necessary insurance information prior to exam and works with financial assistance teams as needed. Communicates with patient (family) and physician concerning status of exam. Obtains preauthorizations prior to scheduled procedure date.Maintains a customer friendly environment with all patients, family members and hospital staff. Answers telephone and directs questions of information to the necessary staff. Confirms procedure time with patient at least 24 hours in advance. Monitors reporting to ensure timely delivery. Enters pathology and schedules follow up exams as indicated.

Position Qualification:

• High School Diploma/ GED

• Medical Assistant Certification

• 1-3 years of healthcare experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Insurance and Preauthorizations

• Customer Service
