Patient Flow Coordinator

Position Summary:

Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision of licensed personnel in the MRI department.

• Establishes and maintains positive interpersonal relationships and promotes effective teamwork with patients, families, coworkers and the community to meet customer service goals Performs direct patient care activities while maintaining maximum comfort and safety of patients.

• Assists MRI technologists throughout the imaging process by facilitating patient transport, performing IV insertion as needed, preparing patients for MRI examinations, and supporting exam setup to promote safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

• Assists with the safe transfer, transport, and discharge of patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, and hospital beds.

• Obtains and maintains accurate patient data and documents appropriately in medical records.

• Provides personal care assistance to patients including: dressing, elimination, and transportation.

• Demonstrates ability to assist in patient transfers effectively and safely.

• Responds appropriately to emergency situations or unplanned events.

• Assists with falls prevention activities in MRI, responding quickly as appropriate to enhance patient safety

• Keeps the MRI environment clean and stocked.

• Assists with other duties within the MRI department as needed.

Position Qualification:

High School diploma or GED required. 2 years of patient care experience preferred.
