Position Summary The Video Remote Medical Interpreter serves as a communication bridge between patients and healthcare professionals. This role provides accurate, culturally appropriate interpretation through video remote interpretation for individuals who are non-English speaking, deaf, or hard of hearing, ensuring understanding of medical information, treatment plans, and services.
Key Responsibilities "Provide real-time video remote interpretation between patients, families, and healthcare providers in the patient s preferred language "Accurately interpret medical terminology, including anatomy, procedures, and medications "Support effective communication in both clinical and non-clinical settings "Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with all patient privacy policies "Assist with translation of written documents, as needed "Act as a trusted cultural and linguistic resource for care teams
Minimum Qualifications "Successful completion of a medical interpreter competency assessment (to be administered by UCHealth) "Completion of 40-hour medical interpreter training program (e.g. "Bridging the Gap") "Minimum of 2 years of medical interpretation experience Preferred Qualifications "Prior Video Remote Interpretation experience "Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) or Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI) credential
