    Description

    GENERAL SUMMARY The Patient Registration Associate greets, instructs, directs and assists patients and visitors upon arrival to the service area or through telecommunication devices. Responsible for accurate data collection, documentation, and data retrieval with computerized systems. Reports to Practice Manager/Supervisor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Renders exceptional customer service to parents, patients, visitors and co-workers. Serves as a patient liaison for medical support services. Performs patient scheduling, patient registration, check-in, co-payments and authorizations. Assists in maintaining medical records and filing systems. Provides clerical and secretarial support. Professionally communicates with multiple departments. Performs other duties as assigned. LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS required. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS High school graduate or GED. Ability to relate well with the public. Ability to effectively gather and exchange information in both oral and written communications with proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetical or numeric systems. Knowledge of computer data entry skills required. General knowledge of ICD-9/CPT coding and third party payer insurance verification processes and medical terminology preferred.
