Faulkton Area Medical Center is looking for a detail-oriented, people-focused professional to join our team as a Patient Registration & Outpatient Scheduling Specialist.

Position Overview


This role supports both hospital and clinic operations by coordinating patient access, including:


  • Patient registration
  • Insurance verification and authorizations
  • Outpatient scheduling
You’ll help ensure patients are accurately registered, properly scheduled, and well-informed before receiving care


What You’ll Do


  • Register patients for hospital and clinic services
  • Verify demographics, insurance, and eligibility
  • Schedule appointments for lab, imaging, therapy, and other services
  • Obtain and manage prior authorizations
  • Provide clear instructions to patients regarding appointments and preparation
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and care teams
  • Assist patients with questions related to appointments, insurance, and financial responsibility
  • Maintain accuracy and compliance in all patient information and documentation
What We’re Looking For


  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, accountable, and team-oriented
  • Comfortable working with the public both in person and on the phone
  • Basic computer, typing, and math skills
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliant)
Preferred Experience (Not Required)


  • Patient registration, scheduling, or healthcare front office experience
  • Familiarity with insurance verification and prior authorizations
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, or VA Community Care
  • Experience with EMR systems (Cerner/Oracle) or rural healthcare environments
