Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Patient Safety Attendant (PSA), you will be a trusted partner in keeping patients safe and cared for during vulnerable times. You will be part of a team that counts on you to help protect patients from harm, bring comfort in moments of stress, and support quality care across the hospital. You will make a real difference for patients and families every day while growing your skills and contributing to our shared mission of caring for and improving human lives.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Keeping a close watch over patients at high risk for falls or self-harm, staying alert and ready to act while helping them feel secure and supported 
  • Helping maintain a safe, clutter-free environment by following safety protocols, infection prevention practices, and keeping rooms stocked and organized 
  • Reporting any changes in patient behavior or condition promptly and partnering with the nursing care team to respond quickly
  • Assisting patients with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) like eating, bathing, grooming, and getting comfortable to promote dignity and comfort 
  • Supporting the nursing team with tasks such as transporting patients, delivering supplies, and helping the unit run smoothly 
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Prior healthcare and/or direct patient care experience helpful. Customer service experience is a plus.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
