Job Summary and Qualifications The Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) participates in high-quality patient-centered care by providing continuous observation and monitoring for high-risk patients. In collaboration with the nursing team, the PSA ensures the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes the risk of falls and accidental or intentional self-harm. The Sitter may also assist with basic activities of daily living. Our Patient Safety Attendants are passionate about ensuring an exceptional patient experience and committed to caring like family.

What You Will Do In This Role You will maintain a direct line of sight with the patient at all times, including while family and/or visitors are in the room. You will accompany patients and ensure safety during transportation, testing, and procedures occurring away from the patients normal environment. You will establish a safe, risk-free patient environment by utilizing knowledge of fall prevention protocols, infection control measures, and self-harm prevention. You will perform room assessments regularly and after any visitations.

What Qualifications You Will Need

  1. 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  2. Basic Life Saving Support certification required within 30 days of hire
  3. De-Escalation Training required within the first 90 days of hire
