This a casual position working in the Emergency Department Trauma Center. Requires minimum of one 8 hour PM shift per week with some weeknight and weekend availability.
Patient Safety Companions in the EDTC assist with patient flow as well as assignments to patient rooms for those who require observation. Must have initiative to help out wherever needed.
Prefer junior or senior nursing students who won't graduate before May 2027. Must be able to commit to the schedule while in school.
We are targeting start date of August 17th or August 31st. If you are offered this position you will be required to attend a New Team Member Welcome session on start date (Monday) If you have classes or clinicals on that date you'll need to make alternate arrangements with you faculty as this session is mandatory.
Job Summary
Under the direction of a nurse, this role provides supervision for assigned patients. The main responsibility is to help keep patients safe by watching them closely and using simple safety actions. Basic tasks are performed as listed within the Patient Safety Companion Competency checklist.
