    Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Patient Safety Manager to join the team. This role will be Monday-Friday, regular business hours (Onsite). Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

    Patient Safety Manager Job Responsibilities:

    • Contributes to the development and execution of system wide strategies to support continuous advancement of a highly reliable safety culture for zero harm to patients and team members to support the organization's mission, vision, and values.
    • Facilitates daily situational awareness of safety reports across the entire health system for the executive team, working closely with all levels of the organization regarding event management, immediate risk mitigation, and robust long term sustainable improvements.
    • Promotes and role models the way for a team environment that is committed to psychological safety as well as just and fair shared accountability.
    • Leads process improvements for harm reduction and clinical excellence, using various safety evaluation methods such as RCA², ACAs, FMEAs; Debriefs process improvement teams.
    • Serves as a subject matter expert and master trainer for monthly team training, using the TeamSTEPPS model for creating high performing teams.
    • Coordinates peer support across the organization to assure team member support following adverse events that impact caregiver well-being, resilience, and joy at work.
    • Effectively analyzes and leverages safety event data to guide improvements in reliable processes for harm prevention.
    • Recommends improvements for compliance with NPSGs to assure ongoing regulatory readiness.
    • May perform additional duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor''s degree in related field (or relevant experience in lieu of degree equivalent to 4 years).

    • Experience: 5 years of healthcare experience with demonstrated experience in quality/safety improvements.

    • Certification: Certified Professional in Patient Safety within 12 months or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality within 12 months

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Education: BSN

    • Experience: Clinical inpatient experience; human factors engineering experience is a plus; ED experience is a plus

    • Certification: CPPS upon start is a plus

    • Other: strong interest in perf improvement
