Our office is seeking a Patient Scheduler to join our busy specialty practice. Our office is looking for a talented and pleasant patient scheduler to take on front office duties to provide an exceptional experience to all patients and visitors. As a Patient Scheduler, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and referral offices, providing a friendly, informative, and supportive experience. This role involves working closely with our support staff, including front office, billing and insurance teams, other schedulers, as well as members of the clinical team and doctors. 

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to patients and referral offices via phone.
  • Manage a multi-line phone queue system to assist callers efficiently.
  • Direct callers to the appropriate department or individual as needed. 
  • Assess, document, and communicate post-surgical questions and concerns to RN using clinical messaging.
  • Schedule patient consultations and surgical procedures in the EMR system, following established policies and protocols.
  • Accurately complete insurance verification forms and obtain necessary insurance information.
  • Educate patients on in-network and out-of-network insurance policies and procedures.
  • Reschedule appointments as needed due to schedule changes.
  • Perform additional duties such as patient registration, EMR data entry/scanning, and chart preparation.
  • Comply with all HIPAA regulations and model the Practice's values. 

  

Your Background 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and the dental team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in dental software and basic computer skills. 
  • Understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes. 
  • Empathetic and patient-centered approach to customer service.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment
  • Must be able to assist patients safely in and out of chairs or treatment areas
  • Must be able to maintain clinical positioning for extended periods
  • Must be able to work around medical equipment and instruments
  • Must be able to adhere to OSHA and infection control standards
  • Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements
  • Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations

Position Base Pay Range
$15—$17.25 USD
