Responsibilities:
- Manages complex patient scheduling and rescheduling across multiple providers, including appointments, procedures, diagnostic tests, surgeries, and hospital admissions, ensuring compliance with protocols and regulations.
- Greets and checks in patients, assists with forms, and prioritizes scheduling needs to support timely access to care.
- Coordinates multi-service appointments and phone communications to optimize patient access and scheduling efficiency.
- Confirms insurance coverage, secures prior authorizations, and ensures patients are informed of financial and procedural requirements.
- Updates and maintains accurate patient information in the EMR, including demographics, insurance, and scheduling data while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
- Supports clinic operations through record audits, process improvement initiatives, and mentorship of junior staff to enhance scheduling workflows and patient experience.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or other related field preferred.
Experience:
- Three (3) years of customer service OR healthcare related experience required.
- Three (3) years of experience working in medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, and maintaining medical records preferred.
