Job Description

Kapiolani Medical Specialists (KMS) is a specialty physician group dedicated to caring for Hawaiis women and children through excellence in academics, physician training, medical research and clinical care. The group is comprised of over 100 Specialists, Nurse Practitioners and other staff, covering newborn to womens health services at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children. KMS operates exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes, offering highly specialized care options at Kapiolani and building support for these services within Hawaii as a whole. The group's specialty areas include: Neurology, Orthopedics, Genetics, Adolescent Medicine, Otolaryngology, Behavioral Health Services, Hematology/Oncology, Neonatology, Pediatric Intensive Care, Family Medicine and the full spectrum of Pediatric Specialties. Its Womens specialists include Breast and General Surgery, Adult Hospitalists and GYN Oncology.

As the Patient Service Representative, you will help to ensure that our patients and their families receive warm, friendly and considerate assistance at our hospitals and clinics by acting as a liaison between patients of all ages and the professional staff of our hospitals and clinics, generally by performing a combination of clerical, reception and business duties. We are looking for someone sensitive and helpful, with excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work effectively under minimal supervision, and a commitment to creating a healthier Hawai'i.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Basic computer skills. One (1) year clerical support in a healthcare setting or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Basic medical terminology. Experience with EPIC.
