We are searching for a Patient Service Representative for our Gateway Asthma & Allergy office located in OFallon, MO!
Opportunity:
Part-time opening
Monday & Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This position also shares in rotating coverage of a Saturday morning shift, typically from 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
No nights or holidays
Outpatient clinical practice
This position is not benefit eligible.
Day-to-Day:
Perform patient check-in/check-out
Schedule patient appointments
Collect co-payments
Verify insurance
Register patients/update patient demographics
Answer the telephone
Balance monies at day end
May be required to enter physician-related charges into the computer
Who we are seeking (preferred):
The Patient Service Representative is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers.
Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent.
1 or more years of experience working in a healthcare setting.
Previous medical billing experience.
Medical coding familiarity.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Knowledge of the different types of health insurance plans; i.e. HMO's, PPO's, etc.
PC/Windows proficiency.
Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction.
Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.
