Patient Service Representative II
The Patient Service Representative II serves as a vital link in delivering efficient, coordinated, and patient-centered care by ensuring all scheduling, financial, and communication processes are accurately completed for patients and referring physicians. This role applies established scheduling guidelines and provider calendar management principles to optimize patient flow, support timely access to care, and contribute to strong operational and financial performance.
Working within physician-established protocols, the representative reviews referral requests and determines appropriate appointment timing based on clinical needs and scheduling criteria. As a key coordinator in the scheduling process, this position facilitates clear and consistent communication between referring physicians, patients, and attending providers to ensure a smooth and well-organized care experience.
In addition, the Patient Service Representative II supports the financial integrity of the University of Florida Physicians and the Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) by carrying out essential revenue cycle functions that support accurate and efficient billing and reimbursement. Responsibilities include applying coding and billing guidelines, verifying insurance coverage, securing prior authorizations, reviewing patient account information, maximizing collections, and providing financial counseling to patients in a professional and supportive manner.
This position may also be required to float to other clinic locations as needed to ensure adequate coverage and continuity of operations.
