Position Summary:
This position involves a range of administrative tasks to support patient care and office operations in a healthcare environment. Key responsibilities include answering phone calls, addressing patient inquiries, and managing patient charts and medical records. The role also involves managing office supplies, ensuring accurate patient census and scheduling updates, monitoring inboxes for medication refills, appointments, and referrals, as well as ensuring the completion of necessary forms and consents before patient visits. Additional duties may include assisting Patient Access with the check in and check out processes, insurance verification, and scheduling appointments. Strong customer service skills are essential for interacting with patients, medical staff, and external parties.
Experience:
- Required: Minimum one year front desk experience in a medical office or outpatient ambulatory care setting.
- Computer and EMR experience required.
- Knowledge of medical insurance, medical terminology, and medical office services and routines.
- Preferred:
- Cardiovascular practice experience.
- Two to four years' experience in a customer service- oriented environment a plus.
Education:
- Required: HS Diploma, or equivalent
- Preferred: Associates degree
License and Credentials:
Skills:
- Communicates effectively with customers (physicians, patients, teammates).
- Knowledgeable working with EMR systems.
- Preferred: Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
Compensation:
The minimum starting rate for this position is $18.20. When determining a team members base rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of recent relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
