Job Summary

A non-exempt medical office position responsible for front office processes in the physician practice
Responsibilities
- Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources, including the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Corporate Compliance Program.
- Greets patients entering the practice.
- Manages office communications, including answering phones, making, confirming, and rescheduling patient appointments.
- Checks in patients, collects accurate patient demographics, verifies insurance, and enters data into the electronic system.
- Checks out patients and assists them with referral processing and scheduling.
- Collects co-pays and posts charges.
- Processes charge entry and patient balances.
- Distributes information to patients regarding office policies, procedures, and practice information.
- Explains the patient portal and assists with patient enrollment.
- Performs additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma/GED
Experience: One year customer service experience, preferably in a hospital or physician office setting.
