Location: PMG - Westglen GI, Shawnee, KS
We are seeking a Patient Service Representative, internally referred to as Patient Access Representative or Patient Registration Clerk, at our PMG - Westglen GI. As a Patient Service Rep, you interview the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits.
Responsibilities
- Interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits
- Schedules patients in their clinic and assists with scheduling them in others
- Verifies insurance coverage, collects co-pays and prior balances from patients, reconciles and prepares deposits, and troubleshoots billing issues
- Greets and checks in patients andles all incoming phone calls and routes to appropriate staff or initiates messages
- Coordinates clinic business processes such as supply ordering, sales calls, record release, fax and mail processing
- Must be able to: (1) operate a computer to accurately input and retrieve data; (2) communicate with the population served, staff, and providers utilizing age specific techniques; (3) maintain proficiency in medical terminology; (4) project a positive and helpful attitude.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical setting, preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- Customer Service experience preferred
