Position Overview
This position is responsible for processing registrations and admitting patients into the clinic for their appointments. The candidates ability to speak Somali is required for this position. These employees will:
Initiate the patient care episode and may help to begin the financial aspects of the visit (e.g., collecting co-pays, determining eligibility for the Sliding Fee Scale program, etc.) revenue cycle for the visit. Communicates a wide range of information to the patient about the organizations procedures, patient rights and access to care.
The position adds functions and competencies which are at the core of the organizations need to helps to ensure that patients/consumers receive effective, understandable, and respectful care from all staff members effective, understandable, and respectful care that is Care will be provided in a manner compatible with their cultural health beliefs, and practices, and in their preferred language.
This is a 100% time in person, patient-facing position on-at CUHCC.
On any given day staff will be engaged in some or most of these tasks, but the task mix may vary from day to day depending on patient flow. These functions represent 100% of the effort.
20% - Checks-in patients, collects copays
20% - Validates coverage, and collects data for registration and household assessments, determines eligibility and accurately administers patient accounts.
15% - Schedules appointments.
15% - Answers switchboard, phone lines and redirects phone calls, as needed
30% - Communicates to patients, in their own language whenever possible or through interpreter, about essential elements in their care:

Educates patients about application process for programs such as Family Planning Waiver Program, SAGE and MNSure

About the Department
At CUHCC, were transforming urban health care and educating the next generation of healthcare professionals.
CUHCC offers a full range of dental and mental health services that are typically not offered at a community health center, such as prosthodontic services and psychiatry. CUHCC has pharmacists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, dentists, dental hygienists, nurses, family nurse practitioners, family practice physicians, internal medicine physicians, internal medicine-pediatric physicians, licensed social workers and psychologists among other disciplines on staff.
CUHCCs interprofessional care model uses a collaborative, team-based approach to deliver education and patient care, integrating these services. Students and residents at CUHCC have the opportunity to work with other students and preceptors in other fields to best serve the complex needs of the patients. Over half of CUHCC's mental health patients also receive medical services at CUHCC, allowing CUHCC providers to work collaboratively to provide patient centered care.
As a founding member in the countrys first accountable care organization (ACO) for federally qualified health centers, CUHCC is leading change in urban health and improving patient outcomes to meet the Institute for Healthcare Improvements Triple Aim: improve the patient experience, improve patient health, and reduce the cost of patient care.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $24.73/ hour (step 5) - $26.23/hour (step 8) which equates to between $51,438.40/annually - $54,558.40/annually for 1.0 FTE, depending on qualifications, plus $.50/hr language differential upon passing the language test.
