Description

Summary:

  • Location: 234 Crooked Creek Parkway, Suite 500, Durham, N.C. 27713
  • Work Mode: Local
  • Schedule: FT; 7:30 - 4:00 PM Monday - Friday
  • Duration: 13W

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for patient registration, scheduling follow-up visits, referrals, and collecting payments.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification and verification of information.
  • Capture and update demographic and insurance information.
  • Resolve eligibility edits and document appropriately in medical records.
  • Educate patients on financial, compliance, and authorization forms.
  • Collect and post patient financial liabilities.
  • Explain billing and insurance implications to patients.
  • Encourage MyChart enrollment and manage proxy processes.
  • Communicate wait times and coordinate patient flow.
  • Balance daily collections and maintain compliance with PCI standards.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments following financial pathway guidelines.
  • Manage work queues to optimize clinic patient flow.
  • Engage in clinic process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a positive patient experience and adhere to company values.
  • Handle incoming calls and maintain office equipment.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in required training.
  • Ensure a safe environment and report safety concerns.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic PC skills
  • Minimum six months data entry experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understanding of telephone etiquette
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to interact tactfully and courteously with the public
  • Ability to apply departmental policies and procedures
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with personnel

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to provide oral and written instructions
  • Experience in patient financial counseling
  • Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines
  • Experience with electronic health records systems
