Patient Services Representative - Breast Cancer Center

A Brooklyn, NY-based healthcare network is seeking a new Patient Services Representative to join its Breast Cancer Center. This role supports front-desk patient access and administrative coordination in a high-volume clinical setting.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day shift
• Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Hours: 7:30am - 3:30pm
• Setting: Ambulatory care center

Responsibilities:

• Answer telephones and provide professional, customer-focused support to patients and visitors
• Greet patients, complete check-in, and accurately register demographic and financial information in electronic systems
• Verify insurance coverage, process referrals and prior authorizations, and collect co-pays and balances due
• Schedule appointments and diagnostic tests, confirm visits, and help manage patient flow in the waiting area
• Maintain accurate records, scan documents, reconcile cash as needed, and uphold confidentiality and clinic policies

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of clerical or service experience, preferably in a medical environment
• High School Diploma / GED
• Experience with electronic medical record systems and registration or billing systems
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA guidelines
• Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with diverse patient populations

Desired Skills:

• Bilingual (Cantonese or Mandarin)
• Experience in a high-volume clinical setting
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and common healthcare systems such as SCI, Eagle Gold, or NextGen
