Patient Services Representative - Breast Cancer Center

An ambulatory care center is seeking a Patient Services Representative in Brooklyn, NY to support patient intake, scheduling, registration, and front-desk operations in a busy breast cancer center setting. This role is focused on delivering excellent patient service, maintaining accurate records, and supporting a smooth visit experience.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day

• Schedule: Monday to Friday

• Hours: 7:30am to 3:30pm

• Setting: Ambulatory Care Center

Responsibilities:

• Answer telephones and greet patients in a professional, customer-focused manner.

• Check in patients, verify forms, and enter demographic and financial information into electronic systems.

• Verify insurance eligibility, process referrals and authorizations, and collect co-pays and balances due.

• Schedule and confirm appointments and diagnostic tests based on patient, provider, and facility needs.

• Support patient flow, direct visitors appropriately, and escalate issues to the supervisor as needed.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of clerical or customer service experience, preferably in a medical environment

• High School Diploma / GED

• EMR experience

• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA guidelines

• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and clinical staff

• Excellent customer service, telephone etiquette, organizational, and data entry skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality

Desired Skills:

• Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree

• Bilingual (English and Cantonese or Mandarin)

• Experience in a high-volume healthcare setting

• Experience with registration, billing, or scheduling systems

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and medical office computer systems
