    Job Description

    Position Summary:

    The Patient Service Representative/Medical Mobile Unit Driver is responsible for pick-up of the Medical Mobile Unit from storage parking. Transport medical staff to designated area in a safe and timely manner as the schedule warrants. Maintain Medical Mobile Unit cleanliness and keep in optimum working order as warranted by owner's manuals. Complete daily log for unit. Responsible for set-up and breakdown of required materials, safety of parked vehicles, and monitors all fluids levels. Answer assigned work cell phone, greets, assists and directs patients and other potential patients seeking information. Screens and registers new patients. Assists patients in obtaining services and provides information on funding eligibility and inquiries related to patient access processes, policies, and/or other related information. Performs clerical duties to support the daily business activities of the Mobile Unit.

    Essential Functions of the Job:

    Contact scheduled patients and remind them about their appointment.Ascertains predetermined eligibility status and initiates appropriate documentation for processing patient for billing purposes.Assembles all data and documents require or complete patient registration.Schedule appointments in the office and on the Mobile Unit.Enter current patient demographic information into NextGen system.Uses payer resources (RTS) and websites to explore and access eligibility, initiates referrals for varies insurance such as Medi-Cal, Medicare, Manage Care, Commercial, etc.Provides assistance, guidance and direction to visitors and patients.Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.Supports outreach and community events as needed including weekends.Provides coverage and assistance to other HIS areas within the department.Reviews supplies and requests orders to maintain an adequate inventory of supplies.Performs any other job- related duties as needed, assigned, or requested.Provide excellent customer service and be able to communicate effectively with internal and external personnel.Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times.Keep track of Mobile Unit routine maintenance, schedule appointment with mechanic and maintains appropriate maintenance logs.Performs weekly Mobile Unit refueling, grey and black water dumping.Communicate with management when repairs are needed for the Mobile Unit.Arrives on time a site, sets up and breakdown tables chairs, and canopies as needed.Perform daily pre-trip inspection when driving Mobile Unit.

    Job Requirements:

    Education Required (Minimum level of education):High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

    Certifications/Licenses:Valid California class B Driver's License with air brakes endorsement, andproof of vehicle insurance.

    Experience Required (Minimum level of experience):One year of customer service experience.

    Experience Preferred:Previous experience in a medical setting. Experience driving a MobileUnit Bus, truck or vehicle of comparable size and length.

    Verbal and Written Skills Required to perform the Job:Applicant must be fluent in verbal and written English.

    Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:Basic computer skills. Proficient typing skills. Experience with medical record office procedures, preferred.

    Equipment Used:30 to 38ft Medical Mobile Unit, sanitary system, diesel or gas generator, microwave, refrigerator, television, VCR, laptop, fax, copier, and other office equipment.

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

    May be required to work evenings and/or weekends.Physical activities include prolonged periods of sitting, frequent standing, walking and occasional, lifting approximately 20 to 30 pounds.
