Job Title: Patient Services Representative II

Location: Onsite - Oakland, CA

Assignment Duration: 26 weeks

Schedule: Day shift, 5x8 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Position Overview

The Patient Services Representative II serves as the first point of contact for patients in an outpatient setting. This role focuses on front desk operations, patient registration, scheduling, and administrative support. The position ensures a smooth patient experience by maintaining accurate records, verifying insurance, and supporting daily clinic workflows while upholding strict confidentiality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and check in patients, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience

Verify and update patient demographics, insurance information, and authorizations

Schedule appointments and manage clinic calendars efficiently

Assist with patient intake processes, including forms and documentation

Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) with accurate information

Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner

Collect payments and support basic billing processes as applicable

Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with policies

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe front office environment

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent experience

1+ year of recent experience in patient services, front desk, registration, or medical office support

Experience with patient scheduling, intake procedures, and documentation management

Familiarity with EHR systems and insurance verification processes

Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare billing practices

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

Strong commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting PHI

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in an outpatient or clinical setting

Experience handling payments and financial transactions in a healthcare environment

Strong customer service and phone communication skills

Ability to follow detailed instructions and work within structured processes

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with clinical and administrative teams
