Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm, 11:00am-7:30pm

Pay Range: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule may include 8:00am-4:30pm, 11:00am-7:30pm

Reporting to the Lead Patient Service Representative, the Patient Service Representative(PSR) rotates between the departments: X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, CT, and Mammography. The PSR greets patients and visitors entering the department. The PSR generates and sorts exam requisitions, accurately enters exams into the HIS/RIS system. Must maintain a high level of patient confidentiality via HIPPA guidelines and be committed to Service Excellence at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Medical Terminology course preferred.

  • Previous coursework related to administrative skills preferred.

  • Experience

  • One year in a medical office environment preferred.

  • Customer service, data entry, and HIS/RIS experience a plus.

  • Licensure and/or Certification

  • None required.

  • Skills

  • Organization and multitasking skills

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively using medical terminology

  • Accurate data entry skills

  • Courteous and professional manner when dealing with public both in person and on the phone

  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, i.e., answer phones, give verbal reports, generate paperwork in an organized manner all at the same time as well as working with minimal supervision

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Maintains standard of performance which promote Service Excellence

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.

  • Computer skills required.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
