Patient Services Representative

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a Patient Services Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients in a busy healthcare setting. This role is responsible for scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, assisting patients with registration, and providing exceptional customer service while ensuring a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations
• Collect copays and process patient payments
• Maintain accurate patient records and demographic information
• Answer high-volume phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
• Coordinate referrals and communicate with providers as needed
• Process medical records requests and documentation
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
• Provide administrative support to clinical and office staff

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a medical office, healthcare, or patient-facing customer service role
• Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology preferred
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
