Non-Clinical - Administrative/Patient Services Representative

Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 3 months
  • Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Day Shift, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (5x8 Hours)

Job Summary

This is a patient-facing administrative role serving as the primary point of contact for patient relations in a clinical orthopaedic and sports medicine outpatient setting. The Patient Services Representative supports efficient clinic operations by managing scheduling, registration, insurance processing, referrals, and authorizations while providing exceptional customer service to patients in person and by phone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for patient relations in person and by phone
  • Greet patients and assist in resolving patient concerns and escalating as appropriate
  • Check patients in/out and collect co-payments, give receipts, and reconcile payments
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information in CS-Link/Epic
  • Schedule appointments and complete patient registration
  • Process and track referrals and authorizations for various insurance types
  • Handle patient/provider correspondence
  • Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients
  • Sanitize workspace using provided supplies and following department guidelines

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required

Required Experience

  • 2 years of recent experience working in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting
  • Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • 3 years of recent experience working as a Patient Service Representative in an Ortho setting

Required Skills

  • Ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed oral and written instructions
  • Flu vaccination required (no exceptions/no declinations)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with CS-Link/Epic
  • Understanding of medical terminology
