    Harborview Medical Center - Admitting has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Services Specialist 2.

    WORK SCHEDULE

    • 100% FTE (40 hours per week)

    • Variable Shift

    • Wednesday - Friday (7:00am -3:30pm) and Saturday - Sunday (3:00pm-11:30pm)

    POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

    • Serves as the primary resource for directing patient flow into Harborview Medical Center through the Admitting department

    • Interact with patients, families, and nursing and medical staff to ensure patients are correctly identified, registered, and roomed upon entry to the medical center

    • Ensure accurate demographic and financial information is collected and signed consents/agreements are obtained

    • Verify insurance coverage and third-party payers

    • Coordinate patient care with other departments and outside hospitals

    • Refer patients to Financial Counseling as needed

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Obtain and verify demographic and financial information through pre-registration

    • Complete patient registration by securing consents and financial agreements

    • Process patient paperwork and coordinate care with other services

    • Triage patient phone calls and provide service information

    • Access computer systems to retrieve patient data and perform clerical tasks

    • Enter new patients into the Epic ADT electronic record system

    • Schedule or request interpreter services

    • Perform reception and discharge activities

    • Check in patients

    • Complete and enter Medicare as Secondary Payer online

    • Coordinate referral processes and medical records

    • Obtain and verify patient registration information

    REQUIREMENTS

    • High School graduation or equivalent

    • One year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience

    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements

    Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

    Pay Range Minimum:

    $21.82 hourly

    Pay Range Maximum:

    $29.41 hourly
