Overview

Patient Sitter - Float

UnityPoint - St. Lukes - Sioux City Downtown

Hours: Full Time, 36 hours per week, 12 hour shifts

Schedule: Nights 7pm-7am, rotating weekends and holidays

Provides continuous observation and monitoring of patients at risk of self-harm, wandering, or injury to ensure a safe, therapeutic environment and support delivery of care. Under the direction of a care team member, monitors and documents patient behavior, redirects or de-escalates as appropriate, and assists with basic safety, comfort, and activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patients safety by providing a safe environment
  • Assist patient with routine activities
  • Coordinate care with appropriate hospital personnel
  • Document implementation of safety protocols
  • Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
