Area of Interest: Patient Care FTE: 0.01 Department: Radiology Administration - Luth Shift: As Needed - varied hours as needed Job ID: 179673 Overview The Transporter is responsible for the safe, timely, and respectful movement of patients, equipment, and essential items throughout the hospital. This role ensures accurate communication with clinical teams, maintains a clean and safe environment, and supports patient comfort during transport. The Transporter also adheres to hospital protocols, safety standards, and documentation procedures, contributing to smooth hospital operations and a positive patient experience. The Transporter will be working in collaboration with caregivers to facilitate the moving of patients to and from Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. Find a fulfilling career and make a difference with UnityPoint Health. Responsibilities Manages the patient transportation between the nursing units and Radiology/Nuclear Medicine. This workflow is coordinated with the Technologist whos scheduled to image the patient. Maintain the safety of the transportation equipment by reporting and removing the equipment from service. Maintain safe, clean equipment by making sure the equipment is clean prior to and after each use. Assists in the transfer of patients to and from the examination table and provides proper immobilization devices for positioning or transporting as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous Patient Transport experience helpful but not required. * 6 months of customer service required.
