Schedule: Full Time Days,  32 hours per week, rotating weekends and holidays

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Transporter is responsible for coordinating with a variety of medical professionals to take patients from their rooms to various locations for X-rays, scans, surgery and other medical tests or procedures. This can mean helping patients in and out of bed, or using wheelchairs, stretchers and medical transport vans to get them from the emergency room to a room, from one room to another, or down to the lobby for checkout. In addition, they may also assist with room preparation and cleaning. 

SIGNIFICANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently deliver the best in customer service and patient care. As a team member, demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with patients, families, visitors and other employees 
  • Champion HCA’s mission, vision and values; comply with the policies and procedures, ethical standards and code of conduct set forth by the company 
  • Transport patients. 
  • Assist with patient care. 
  • Reports supply and equipment needs to the manager and distributes items to appropriate area (Linens, Fluids, and patient care items). 
  • Collect soiled equipment and cleans all equipment according to standard procedures and check for proper operation. 
  • Maintains a very clean work area including all transport stretchers. 
  • Assists in the orientation of new personnel to the unit as instructed by the manager 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • High School Graduate / GED
