Paving | Concrete Laborer

TradeWorX is hiring an experienced construction laborer to support paving and concrete crews across active Central PA projects through the remainder of the season. This is a hands-on field role assisting operators and finishers with asphalt and concrete placement, hand work, compaction, and general crew support. Strong performers may have opportunities to remain working as projects transition and workforce needs continue.

Pay & Overtime:

• $21–$23/hour
• Overtime available based on project schedule
• Approximately 40–50 hours per week based on workload and weather

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday
• Day shift / construction schedule
• Work may move between active Central PA projects
• Immediate seasonal need through project closeout

Job Duties:

• Assist paving operators, concrete finishers, and field crews with material placement
• Prepare and stage tools needed for asphalt and concrete operations
• Perform shovel and lute hand work with asphalt and concrete materials
• Operate walk-behind compaction equipment during asphalt placement
• Assist with general site preparation, cleanup, and material handling
• Work safely around paving equipment, concrete operations, trucks, and heavy equipment

Requirements:

• Previous construction labor experience; paving, concrete, excavation, or sitework experience preferred
• Comfortable performing physical shovel, rake, lute, and material-handling work
• Ability or willingness to operate walk-behind compaction equipment safely
• Reliable transportation to changing project locations
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather and site conditions
• Dependable attendance and willingness to work overtime when required

Ideal Candidate:

• Has prior paving, concrete, utility, excavation, or heavy-civil experience
• Understands how to work safely around operating equipment and active crews
• Can maintain a steady physical work pace throughout the shift
• Is flexible about moving between projects as seasonal work closes out
• Is reliable, safety-conscious, and ready to contribute without extensive direction
