Payment Processing Specialist
Location: Irving, TX | Onsite
Compensation & Schedule
• $21.00–$23.00 per hour, based on experience
• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
• 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks
• Temp-to-Hire | W2
Role Impact
The Payment Processing Specialist ensures the accuracy and integrity of customer loan accounts through precise payment processing, account maintenance, and transaction research. Success in this role means maintaining clean, reconciled accounts, resolving discrepancies efficiently, and supporting compliance and audit readiness. This position directly impacts customer satisfaction, operational accuracy, and overall financial reporting reliability.
Key Responsibilities
• Process, research, and post customer and third-party payments with high accuracy
• Maintain loan accounts by completing monetary and non-monetary transactions, including adjustments and account updates
• Research and resolve account discrepancies using established procedures and business rules
• Reverse and reapply payments, process NSF returns, stop payments, closed account notices, and other exception items
• Prepare daily transaction batches, perform reconciliations, document account activity, and respond to internal and external inquiries
Minimum Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in loan servicing, loan accounting, or payment processing in a financial services environment
• Demonstrated experience researching and resolving account discrepancies independently
• High School Diploma or equivalent
Core Tools & Systems
• Microsoft Excel (filtering, sorting, basic formulas)
• Loan servicing and loan accounting systems (e.g., Shaw Retail or similar platforms)
• Payment processing and account reconciliation systems
• Internal documentation and transaction tracking tools
Preferred Skills
• Experience supporting audits, reconciliations, or financial reporting processes
• Background in consumer finance, lending, or banking operations
• Knowledge of payment processing regulations and compliance requirements
