Payments Specialist

Role, Function and Responsibilities
The ACH Coordinator manages the daily posting of ACH files, researches and resolves all ACH and share draft exception items, handles member ACH disputes and processes ACH returns. Handles incoming and outgoing wire requests; monitor for fraud, policy compliance, research and team consultation to limit losses. They will initiate Indirect Lending dealer fundings, approve and send the ACH online opening account files, process and approve mobile check deposits; all while ensuring the Credit Union is NACHA compliant. This role has regular contact with members and staff offering support to resolve wire, ACH, share draft, and mobile deposit related issues, process disputes, research, and monitor for fraud.
Education & Experience
A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Interpersonal Skills
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. Attention to detail and ability to manage time well are required to meet multiple processing deadlines daily. Good listening, telephone skills, and the ability to work well within a team are essential.
