Position SummaryUnder limited supervision, the Payroll Accountant II is an experienced role responsible for the accounting duties related to the payroll function. This role is responsible for the financial accounting, regulatory compliance and internal controls related to the payroll function.Scope / Supervision and InteractionDoes Note Have Direct ReportsEssential FunctionsPrepare journal entries to record transactions related to the payroll process as well as reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account informationMaintain mappings between payroll systems and general ledgersCreate and generate custom reports for requested data to internal and external recipientsEnsure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standardsStay current with changes in accounting policies and regulations to ensure ongoing complianceDevelop and apply continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systemsAnalyze data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvementLead and coordinate special projectsCollaborate with internal and external auditors during auditsParticipate in the development and implementation of payroll policies and proceduresProvide training and support to junior payroll staff as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of experienceIn-depth knowledge of payroll process and relevant lawsBasic accounting knowledge, including understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll software (e.g., UKG) is a plusExcellent analytical and critical thinking skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretionEqual Employment OpportunityParker is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer .
