We are looking for a Payroll & A/ P specialist for a mechanical contractor in South Windsor CT. This is a permanent position, in the office.
What you will do as a Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist
- Review, verify, and process purchase orders, vendor invoices for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Enter invoice data into the accounting system.
- Process weekly payroll
- Prepare and process electronic payments (ACH, wire transfers) and checks.
- Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely disbursements and avoid late fees.
- Address payment inquiries from vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding balances or discrepancies.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing by reconciling accounts payable records.
- Generate and maintain accounts payable aging reports and payment activity summaries.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Controller
What you will need as aPayroll & Accounts Payable Specialist
- 4 + years or experience as a A/P specialist
- experience in construction, specialty construction, electrical, plumbing or mechanical is a bonus
- experience with ERP systems
- Great communication and organizational skills

- $30 - $34 per hour depending on experience
