Extension is seeking a Payroll Administrator for a fully remote contract-to-hire opportunity with a well-established, publicly traded organization. This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys problem-solving, improving processes, and making payroll operations more efficient.
Independently process accurate weekly and bi-weekly multi-state payroll for up to 2,000 employees
Audit payroll, timekeeping, tax updates, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, and other payroll changes
Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure data integrity
Support payroll parallel testing and system-related projects
Create, maintain, and improve payroll SOPs and documentation
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Partner with HR and Accounting on payroll reporting, audits, and employee records
Respond to employee and manager payroll questions
Evaluate existing processes and recommend more efficient solutions

High School Diploma or equivalent required
5+ years of payroll experience
Strong ADP Vantage experience required
Multi-state payroll processing experience
Strong understanding of state and local payroll taxation
Experience processing payroll for up to 2,000 employees
Experience with weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles
Strong documentation and SOP creation experience
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
Payroll system implementation/conversion experience preferred
Parallel payroll testing experience preferred
Process improvement mindset and strong critical-thinking skills
Must be a collaborative team player who is comfortable asking questions and professionally challenging processes
