JOB SUMMARY

The Payroll Administrator 1 is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely weekly and bi-weekly payroll for employees in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. This entry level role performs routine payroll tasks, maintains employee pay records, and is a point of contact for payroll-related questions and audits. This role will be expected to work with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate timesheets and payroll records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Verify timesheets and calculate gross to net pay.Maintain and update payroll records including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and benefit deductions.Ensure compliance with applicable wage and hour laws, including overtime and minimum wage requirements.Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and timekeeping.Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies.Maintain confidentiality of employee records and payroll information.Ensure compliance across multiple Union contracts and AG Wage Order contracts.Ensure garnishment compliance.Maintain check registers and positive pay files for accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.1+ years' experience in payroll, accounting, or related field is preferred including multistate and multi-pay group payrolls.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and knowledge of Dayforce HCM (Human Capital Management) system preferred.Strong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage competing priorities and deadlines.Thrive in a high-pressure environment to meet deadlines.Strong ability to analyze payroll data, identify discrepancies, and resolve complex payroll issues.Strong organizational, critical thinking, and customer service skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Thrive in team collaboration environment.Embrace and exhibit The Wine Group Core Values - Long Term Sustainable Value Creation, Relentlessly Entrepreneurial, Empowered People and Responsible and Trustworthy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift and carry 15 pounds and be qualified to drive a company vehicle.Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in an office.Use of standard office equipment, including computers (keyboarding), phones, and printers.Limited travel to other facilities in California may be required.

COMPENSATION

Hourly Pay Range Posted: $22.26 - $33.41/hr.Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, knowledge and abilities, education, and other position-related factors.
