Payroll Administrator
Location: Northeast Orange County, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a Payroll Administrator to independently manage payroll operations for a multi-site organization. This role is responsible for end‑to‑end payroll execution, ensuring employees are paid accurately, compliantly, and on schedule. This position is designed for a payroll professional with 3-5 years of experience.

Core Responsibilities:
Run weekly payroll for employees across multiple locations
Verify and process regular hours, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations, including California requirements
Audit payroll data prior to processing to prevent errors
Manage garnishments, tax levies, and benefit-related deductions
Reconcile payroll reports and support general ledger accuracy
Partner with HR regarding onboarding, separations, compensation changes, and leave impacts
Respond to payroll questions with clarity and professionalism
Maintain payroll records in accordance with legal and company standards
Assist with audits and payroll-related reporting as needed

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of full‑cycle payroll experience supporting 1,000+ employees, strong knowledge of California payroll laws, and hands‑on experience with payroll systems such as ADP or Paychex. They bring high attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, strong organizational and Excel skills, and experience supporting multi‑location payroll, including exposure to union, prevailing wage, or certified payroll environments, with familiarity in HRIS systems.
