Salary/Hourly Rate: $20/hr - $23/hr
Position Overview: Our client is seeking a Payroll Administrator for a 4 - 6 month temporary assignment with the potential to transition to a permanent position. This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional or someone with strong accounting experience who is interested in developing their payroll skills. The company is willing to train the right candidate on payroll processes and systems.
Responsibilities of the Payroll Administrator:- Compile payroll data including hours worked, bonuses, commissions, taxes, insurance contributions, and retirement deductions.
- Calculate wages and deductions, review payroll for accuracy, and maintain payroll records.
- Update employee payroll records for changes to tax exemptions, insurance coverage, deductions, compensation, promotions, and transfers.
- Prepare and issue employee paychecks in paper and digital formats.
- Maintain records related to leave pay and non-taxable wages.
- Prepare weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports.
- Complete hiring and termination paperwork in coordination with Human Resources.
- Maintain records related to employee leave eligibility, including vacation, holidays, sick leave, and applicable state or federal leave.
- Process employee insurance forms and payments in coordination with Human Resources.
- Ensure payroll processes comply with company policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information.
- Follow company policies, procedures, attendance standards, and timekeeping requirements.
- Attend required training and company meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience/Skills for the Payroll Administrator:- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including spreadsheets and formulas.
- Some accounting experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to learn new payroll processes and systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Reliable and dependable with strong attendance.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a payroll position.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Payroll Administrator:- Experience processing payroll.
- Experience with ADP Enterprise.
- Experience with other payroll software.
- Experience working with exempt and non-exempt employees.
- Knowledge of payroll taxes, deductions, benefits, and leave administration.
- Previous accounting or administrative experience.
Education Requirements:- None required.
- Relevant payroll, accounting, or administrative experience is preferred.
