Salary/Hourly Rate:
$28/hr - $30/hr

Position Overview:
The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing accurate and timely payroll processing for the organization. This role ensures compliance with payroll regulations, supports employees with payroll-related inquiries, and collaborates with HR to maintain accurate records. The position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively across departments. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities of the Payroll Administrator:
  • Process the organization's payroll every pay period, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Audit timekeeping records to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Manage employee data in the Payroll/HRIS system, including new hires, terminations, and changes.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing relevant information.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries and provide accurate information to employees.
  • Assist employees with navigating the Payroll/HRIS self-service portal.
  • Stay updated on payroll regulations and implement necessary changes.
  • Maintain compliance by following established policies, procedures, and laws.
  • Process and audit employee time-off requests in the system.
  • Prepare and run payroll and HR reports for management, analyzing data and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assist with HR-related projects and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Handle record-keeping and filing accurately and in accordance with regulations.
  • Run references and background checks for new hires through automated systems.
  • Process employees for online training courses and maintain training records.
  • Prepare invoices accurately and on time.
  • Respond to external requests such as audits, employment verifications, garnishments, and unemployment claims.
Required Experience/Skills for the Payroll Administrator:
  • High school diploma required; college degree or payroll certification preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Experience in multi-department environments with variable pay rates.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and general computer systems.
  • Ability to analyze information and perform general math calculations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Customer service orientation and ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Payroll Administrator:
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and payroll compliance regulations.
  • Experience preparing payroll-related reports and analyzing data.
  • Knowledge of state and federal payroll laws.
  • Ability to troubleshoot payroll issues and recommend solutions.
  • Experience supporting HR projects and initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Payroll certification (e.g., CPP or FPC) is a plus.
  • Continuing education in payroll and HR compliance recommended.
  • Training in ADP Workforce Now or similar systems preferred.
