Payroll Administrator - Sacramento, CA

Rate: $24.00 to $27.00 per hour 

About the Job

We are looking for a Payroll Administrator in Sacramento, CA. The  Payroll Administrator will perform payroll accounting and administrative duties to support Payroll. The Payroll Administrator will handle payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work along with the accounting and human resources (HR) staff.

  • Make sure all internal policies and applicable laws are followed.

  • Handle business payroll (including out-of-state payroll) twice a month by processing time cards manually and electronically from all departments and their acquired companies, sending them to ADP, and ensuring the correctness of the overall payroll.

  • Every pay cycle, process payments for workers' compensation, child support, and state and federal garnishments; keep track using spreadsheets in Excel to ensure compliance with audits.

  • Calculate commissions and enter data into spreadsheets in Excel.

  • Check insurance bills before entering them into Excel spreadsheets.

  • Monthly spending reports are logged and processed.

  • Process the BLS 3020 form, also known as the Multiple Worksite Report (MWR), quarterly in compliance with state regulations.

  • File and organize paperwork and audit compliance.

  • Submit applications for conducting business in new states, as required by the state, and closure of these States as needed.

  • Perform workers' compensation audit annually.

  • Submit 401(K) payments and reports

  • Perform 401(K) audit annually

Qualifications:

  • At least 3  years of payroll experience

  • Must have experience handling payroll in a PEO setting

  • Must have experience in ADP or any similar system

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

  • Basic math, bookkeeping, and accounting skills.

  • Knowledge of payroll taxes 

  • Certified Payroll Professional certificate (CCP) preferred

  • Experience with California prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting preferred

  • Must know California laws about working hours, holiday pay, vacation PTO, and sick time. 

  • Able to work in Sacramento, CA

  • Authorized to work in the US
