Required Experience: • 3+ years of payroll experience in a large company setting
Required Qualifications: • They should be capable of managing to a deadline, will deal with garnishments as needed. • The successful candidate will also have basic knowledge of payroll accounting, wage and hour laws, and SOX compliance. • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with intermediate level Excel skills • Demonstrated understanding of the relationship between HR policies/programs and payroll • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to prioritize competing demands and work well under pressure • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Proactive with excellent customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications: • End-to-end processing of multi-frequency union is a nice to have, any experience with union payroll is highly preferred, but not required.
Required Technical Skills: • Excel – vlookup, xlookup, pivot tables.
Preferred Technical Skills: • If they have knowledge in SAP ECP it's highly preferred, as it's possible that team members may need to operate with agility to move to different SAP related project work. • Experience with SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) or other major HCM system preferred.
Job Overview: • This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees within a large company, multi-state, union environment. • This position requires a comprehensive understanding of internal processes, compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations as well as company policies, and the ability to handle complex issues.
Responsibilities: • Filling in for the team during Oracle testing, they will be doing the SAP payroll adjustments, data entries and updates for schedules, they will support specific projects that will have deadlines involved • End-to-end processing of multi-frequency union and non-union payrolls • Audit and reconciliation of HR and payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy • Ensure data is compliant with federal, state and local tax regulations including multistate taxation rules • Reconcile payroll integration and bank files • Provide timely and compliant response and set up of employee garnishments • Provide ad hoc reports to internal customers as required • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, providing timely and accurate information and resolving discrepancies • Keep abreast of payroll related regulations • Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners including Human Resources and IT • Provide testing support for system upgrades and periodic tax updates • Special projects as assigned
