Job Summary

The Payroll Analyst is responsible for supporting payroll operations by reviewing, analyzing, and auditing payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance. This role partners with Payroll, Human Resources, and business leaders to research and resolve payroll discrepancies, support employee timekeeping, maintain payroll records, and prepare payroll-related reports. The Payroll Analyst utilizes payroll systems and reporting tools to improve payroll accuracy, support process improvements, and provide exceptional customer service to employees.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze payroll data to ensure accuracy prior to each payroll cycle.
  • Audit payroll reports and identify discrepancies between employee time records and payroll results.
  • Research payroll issues and collaborate with Payroll to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Validate payroll calculations and support payroll quality assurance activities.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
  • Assist employees with timekeeping, timecard entry, and payroll-related questions.
  • Provide guidance and training on payroll and timekeeping procedures.
  • Monitor and resolve payroll and timekeeping inquiries.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze payroll data, reconcile reports, and identify trends or inconsistencies.
  • Prepare payroll reports and provide payroll-related analysis to management.
  • Develop ad hoc reports as requested.
  • Support payroll process improvements and payroll system initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Human Resources, and business partners to support payroll operations.
  • Communicate payroll findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll, payroll analysis, payroll auditing, or payroll administration experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with ADP or other payroll management systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, payroll auditing, and payroll compliance.
  • Experience using timekeeping systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and customer service communication skills.
  • Experience supporting payroll system implementations or system conversions preferred.
  • Experience using Power BI or other business intelligence tools preferred.
  • Manufacturing, industrial, or corporate payroll experience preferred.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or other payroll certification preferred.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll, payroll analysis, payroll auditing, or payroll administration experience required.
  • Experience working with ADP or other payroll management systems required.
  • Experience supporting payroll system implementations or payroll system conversions preferred.
  • Manufacturing, industrial, or corporate payroll experience preferred.
