Description
Payroll Analyst
System One is partnering with a manufacturing client seeking a Payroll Analyst to join their team in Tulsa, OK. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity for an analyst-level professional with hands-on Workday Payroll experience and a strong understanding of payroll processes, reporting, and payroll accounting. This position is ideal for someone who has worked within Workday Payroll, understands how payroll is processed from both a systems and accounting perspective, and has experience creating and validating payroll reports. While experience with General Ledger (GL) posting rules is highly preferred, it is not required.
Key Responsibilities
Support Workday Payroll processes and day-to-day payroll system functionality.
Develop, maintain, and validate Workday payroll reports.
Partner with Payroll, Accounting, Finance, and HRIS teams to ensure accurate payroll processing and financial reporting.
Analyze payroll data, identify discrepancies, and assist with issue resolution.
Support payroll reconciliation activities and ensure payroll data aligns with General Ledger requirements.
Assist with payroll system testing, enhancements, and process improvements.
Document payroll processes and reporting procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve payroll accuracy and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Hands-on experience working within Workday Payroll.
Experience creating, running, and validating Workday payroll reports.
Strong understanding of payroll processing and payroll accounting concepts.
Ability to reconcile payroll data and identify reporting discrepancies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Advanced Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Workday payroll-to-General Ledger (GL) posting rules.
Experience partnering with Accounting or Finance teams on payroll-related reconciliations.
Experience supporting Workday enhancements, testing, or system upgrades.
Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an analyst-level payroll professional with hands-on Workday Payroll experience who understands the payroll lifecycle and its impact on accounting. They are comfortable working with payroll reporting, collaborating across Payroll and Finance teams, and ensuring payroll data is accurate and audit-ready. Experience with GL posting rules is a plus, but the client is primarily seeking someone with strong Workday Payroll knowledge, reporting experience, and a solid understanding of payroll accounting.
