Our client, a Innovative Products And Diverse Power Solutions company, is looking for a Payroll Analyst for their Wauwatosa, WI location.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Executes end-to-end processing of weekly and semi-monthly payrolls to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Analyzes payroll and timekeeping reports to identify trends, risks, or discrepancies in data integrity.
  • Conducts regular internal payroll audits to ensure adherence to
  • Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and internal procedures.
  • Monitors the accuracy of complex benefit deductions, employer
  • contributions, and garnishment processing.
  • Reconciles payroll-related General Ledger (GL) accounts and resolves financial discrepancies.
  • Prepares and distributes payroll metrics and tax reporting to help management assess operational performance.
  • Coordinates year-end payroll activities, including the balancing and filing of W-2 forms and annual tax adjustments.
  • Investigates and resolves escalated payroll inquiries and account discrepancies promptly to ensure financial accuracy and deliver high quality customer service to employees and management.
  • Recommends and participates in payroll-related process improvement initiatives while providing training and functional guidance to staff on updated system applications and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Requirements:
  • Thorough knowledge of multi-state payroll practices, tax withholding laws, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal and people-oriented skills with the ability to
  • communicate effectively with employees and management.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to devise new approaches for automating payroll processes.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex payroll concepts to non-financial personnel.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems such as Kronos, UKG/Ultipro, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to adapt to changing payroll laws, regulations, and business needs. Experience providing training, guidance, or support to team members.
  • Minimum of three to five years of progressive experience in payroll processing, including experience with multi-state payrolls, garnishments, and tax reporting.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent education and experience
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
