About the Position

Mississippi Public Broadcasting is seeking a Payroll Manager. This position's primary responsibilities are to manage MPB's payroll, timekeeping, and benefits. This position will also manage FMLA requests, ADA Accommodation requests, and workers' compensation claims for the agency. This position will work closely with the Human Resource Department to ensure employee information is accurate and regularly reported to each respective oversight agency. Duties include processing payroll and travel reimbursements for MPB employees and contract workers, entering and suspending payroll deductions, managing monthly leave, preparing and sending insurance reconciliations and payments to vendors, submitting payroll and travel reports to the CFO and DFA, acting as EdNet account manager, and resolving issues as they arise. - This position is classified as State Service, Exempt. What youll need to be Successful

Must be proficient in SPAHRS, MAGIC, and FMVIEW, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet established deadlines. A positive attitude is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 2-4 years of experience and/or appropriate certification. - Agency Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and at least eight (8) years of work experience; preferred work experience would be in state payroll.
