Pay Range: $20 $25.00 per hour
New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join its Corporate Payroll Operation team. This role is a backfill for a recently vacated position and will play a key role in supporting the accurate and timely processing of payroll functions for hourly and salaried staff.
Process payroll for both hourly and salaried employees across various hospital locations.
Enter and process wage garnishments and deductions accurately.
Manage payroll transfer reports and ensure benefits deductions are correct.
Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and payroll integrity.
Collaborate with leadership on payroll and accounting-related projects as needed.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor s Degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant payroll experience.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with QuickBooks and payroll systems such as Pay Choice or Payroll Associates is a plus.
